The National Open Institute in St. Petersburg is represented in 26 regions of Russia (from Kaliningrad to Sakhalin). The study programs of the Institute are claimed by different types of the population. For the last 24 years The National Open Institute in St. Petersburg has been afforded the good quality education for more than 200 000 people in Russia and CIS.
There were 65 participants from 14 countries: Algeria, Austria, Belarus, Great Britain, Israel, Iran, Malta, Mexico, Russia, Romania, Turkey, France, South Africa, South Korea. The conference has addressed issues of education and its development in the era of cultural globalization. Most of the reports were devoted to the teaching of English as the main language of scientific communication in a globalized world. The greatest interests were aroused by reports on distance learning and new technologies (mental maps, video, networking, instant messaging, interactive technology, WhatsApp, Skype). School education is widely discussed in the Student section. 25% of reports were devoted to the aesthetic and ethical education, which indicates the importance of their inclusion in the modern educational process. Participants of the conference visited the Hermitage, the Mariinsky Theatre and Peterhof with pleasure. It confirms that the participation in scientific conferences contributes not only to scientific but also to cultural development.
